What an inspiring and uplifting day it was at Nest Fest!
Being major sponsors and part of such a fantastic event, the first time in Australia was such a thrill! In a room filled with passionate fundraisers and insightful speakers, we hope all attendees took away as much as we did. Diving deep into acknowledgement of donors, corporate partnerships, storytelling and ethics – so much to digest and we’re looking forward to sharing the knowledge we’ve gained with our NFP clients.
The atmosphere was buzzing with interest, and it was clear that everyone was both welcoming and eager to dive into new ideas.
One of the standout moments came from the brilliant Lynne Wester, who reminded us all of a simple but powerful truth: donor retention starts with a thank you. It’s easy to overlook the importance of gratitude, but she showed us how a heartfelt “thank you” can go a long way in deepening relationships with donors.
We were also reminded that your brand is worth SO much more than you might think. So don’t be shy about communicating this to your corporate partners! It was inspiring to see a real-life case study from Bully Zero and Be Partner Ready, demonstrating just how impactful it is to understand and leverage your brand.
Simon Oats‘ delivered an inspiring session, enthralling us with how the power of storytelling can lead to exceptional fundraising results. The science behind it made his presentation even more compelling!
Ian MacQuillan also had all of our brains ticking in his thought-provoking session, where he asked “Have you thought about the ethics around fundraising?” and uncovered why it might not be so black and white as you think.
It was great to meet scholarship winners Nicole Williams and Mia Quinlan-Pretto in person, who we were able to support the event by attending. Providing these scholarships to such deserving recipients and their organisations was a true honour.
A big thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to making Nest Fest such a fantastic experience! A special shoutout to Michelle Berriman and Lachlan Hall from Fundraising Nest for getting this incredible event off the ground.
We can’t wait to see where future events take us!
