Turning Digital Noise into NFP Impact: Our Infoxchange 2026 Conference Wrap Up

Last week, our team headed to the Telstra Customer Insight Centre in Melbourne for the 2026 Technology for Social Justice Conference, hosted by Infoxchange. It was our 13th time being part of this event, and we walked away just as inspired as our very first year.

The energy across the three days was exceptional. It was fantastic to step away from our screens and connect face-to-face with so many dedicated professionals from the non-profit and social enterprise sectors.

Why We Love Being on the Expo Floor

We genuinely love being an exhibitor at this conference. Standing at the PN Digital booth gave us a direct line to the people doing the groundwork in NFPs across Australia. We spent our mornings and afternoons listening to the unique hurdles teams are facing in 2026. Hearing these challenges firsthand gives us a clear, data-driven picture of the current digital landscape and highlights exactly where organisations need the most support to bridge the gap between their mission and their impact.

Unravelling Digital Pain Points with Strategy Sessions

A major focus for us this year was offering one-on-one mini-strategy sessions to NFP leaders from our Digital Marketing Hub area. We know that many NFP marketing teams are small but mighty, and a recurring theme in almost every conversation we had was capacity. Teams are stretched thin and are actively looking for evidence-based ways to scale their impact without burning out.
During these sessions, we sat down and unpacked their current digital roadblocks. Whether it was a struggle with disjointed campaign data or a lack of clear direction for their next quarter, we brainstormed practical, data-led solutions that could be implemented immediately. It is always incredibly rewarding for our team to see those lightbulb moments happen in real-time – when a complex, overwhelming marketing pain point is broken down into a clear, actionable roadmap. No fluff, just practical steps to get things done.

Day Two: A Highlight of Practical Learning

While the entire event was such a valuable experience, Day Two was undoubtedly the highlight for us. The sessions shifted heavily toward the practicalities of implementation, specifically how NFPs can leverage AI and data automation to do more with less.
We listened to several excellent case studies focusing on human-centred design and digital inclusion. It was a brilliant alignment with our own consultative approach to marketing. We took extensive notes on how emerging tools are making digital spaces more accessible and inclusive for people of all abilities. The focus wasn’t just on the “shiny new technology”—it was a deep dive into how that technology actually serves people with diverse abilities and supports the communities who need it most.

The Final Takeaway: Strategy Over Software

By Day Three, the focus moved to industry tech demos and the future of social impact technology. We spent our final morning seeing advanced automation in action before wrapping up our time at the booth.
Our overarching takeaway from the three days? Technology is only as powerful as the strategy driving it. You can have the best tech stack in the world, but without an evidence-based plan, it simply becomes digital noise.
We are already back at our desks, analysing the insights we gathered, and feeding that into how we approach marketing for our clients. We want to ensure we continue helping you lead with both evidence and heart.
A massive thank you to the Infoxchange team for organising another phenomenal conference, and to everyone who stopped by the PN Digital stand or joined us for a mentoring session.
Let’s keep the discussion going. If you attended the conference last week, what was your biggest takeaway, and what practical steps are you taking to implement it? Drop us a line – we are always happy to talk strategy!
