From Ideas to Action: Recapping the Infoxchange Technology for Social Justice Conference

PN Team at InfoXchangeWe’re still on a high from last week’s Infoxchange Technology for Social Justice Conference! After 12 years of attending, we can honestly say it never misses a beat. This year’s event brought together not-for-profits, government, social enterprises and tech leaders with a shared purpose: exploring how technology can support meaningful change.

The 2025 theme discussed topics like the digital divide, AI ethics, and the future of technology in the not-for-profit sector, which sparked some incredible discussions and innovative ideas being shared.

Let’s take a look at some of our highlights!

Day 1: Kicking Things Off at Telstra’s Insight Centre

What a way to start. Walking into Telstra’s colourful, state-of-the-art Customer Insight Centre in Melbourne, surrounded by friendly faces (some familiar, some new), really set the tone. The energy was high and the coffee was flowing.

Infoxchange conferenceWe heard from some incredible panels throughout the day, covering a wide range of topics including digital inclusion, tech innovation, cyber security, funding technology, AI, collaboration and more. We were proud to sponsor the panel on Closing the Digital Inclusion Gap, and it was fantastic to see everyone so engaged from the get-go, eager to soak up new ideas and take them back to their organisations.

One of the things that really stood out was how Infoxchange thought about accessibility. They knew that sitting in a theatre all day isn’t easy for everyone, so they streamed the plenary sessions into multiple rooms across the venue. Such a thoughtful touch. We loved that level of planning.

2025 Australian Not-For-Profit Technology Awards

That evening we headed to the 2025 Australian Not-for-Profit Technology Awards, an inspiring night dedicated to celebrating individuals and organisations that are applying technology in an impactful and creative way, big congratulations to all the winners and incredible nominees!

Special shout out to our friends over at Benefolk, as they were a finalist for Not-for-Profit Technology Innovator of the Year. Their work on three free online resource hubs for the for-purpose sector: The Social Sector Video Library, The Community Well, and Benefolk Expert Bar is inspiring. We’re so proud to be part of your network.

Infoxchange Tech AwardsDay 2: Workshops, Robots and Loads of Learning

Day two was packed with networking, hands-on workshops and a whole lot of learning. We dove into topics like grants, reporting, AI implementation, project planning, accessibility, cyber security and more!

You may have heard from our very own Rodney Ferro and Marie Claire Breguet, who kicked off the day with their Smart SEO & Google Ad Grants workshop, showing how not-for-profits can boost their growth through AI and automation. It was fantastic to see the room so engaged and full of great questions.

Lunchtime brought a fun surprise: a visit from an AI robot dog. This little guy mimicked real dog mannerisms and had the crowd fascinated. We learned it’s being trialled in high-risk areas like construction zones, search and rescue missions, and even bomb disposal!

It was great chatting with the other stand holders and, of course, couldn’t resist grabbing some of their fun giveaways. We came prepared too with our own stash of goodies to share, including some of our known strategies that we implemented with our clients!

Day 3: Industry Tech Demo Day

Although we couldn’t make it to Day 3, we heard nothing but good things. The Industry Tech Demo Day was a great way to wrap up the conference, packed with interesting sessions and practical takeaways that had everyone buzzing with ideas to take back to their desk.

A Huge Thank You

Throughout the event, we heard inspiring stories and thought-provoking discussions on how not-for-profits can leverage technology to connect with their communities, showcase their impact, and drive meaningful change.

A big thank you to Infoxchange for putting together another great event, and to all the sponsors, speakers and attendees who made it so special.

We’re already looking forward to next year!
