Despite the 1300 sustainability impacts we contributed to in 2021, we recognise that there’s so much more that we can do to support global sustainability going forward. That’s why, together with B1G1, we’re increasing our monthly contributions to high-impact projects that support the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.
These goals were developed as a call to action for businesses and governments around the world, and outline the next steps we need to take in order to end poverty, fight inequality and injustice, and tackle climate change over the next 15 years.
Let’s take a look at some of the goals we have contributed the most toward at PN Digital…
👉🏼 Providing fresh, clean water
We sponsor the construction of wells and water pumps in Malawi and Zambia, which help to decrease infant and child mortality caused by water and sanitation diseases.
This also reduces the amount of time wasted walking to find clean water and enables people to work more.
👉🏽 Providing food for rescued animals
Our donations help to support Edgar’s Mission, a safe haven for rescued farmed animals who provide lifelong care for over 400 rescued residents.
From sweet smelling hay for the cows, sheep and goats; nutritious carrots, pumpkins, apples and more for the pigs; life-saving formula to bottle feed lambs; as well as leafy greens and succulent treats for the chickens, ducks and bunnies, no animal has to go without.
👉🏾 Protecting forests and reducing carbon emissions
By protecting areas of the Daintree Rainforest, Australia’s largest and the world’s oldest rainforest, we’re helping to reduce carbon emissions while protecting the 142 endangered species of plants and 44 endangered species of animals that reside within the area.
👉🏿 Providing access to clean solar power
By providing solar lighting kits to individuals living in rural Cambodia, India and Vietnam, families and small businesses are able to extend their workday into the evening hours. These kits also help to improve literacy rates, as children can read after dark, and reduce local air pollution caused by kerosene lamps.
Each kit provides 4-5 hours of power for two lights, a fan and a cell phone charger.
